Quora always tried to make the platform a bit different. They tried to start different programs from time to time to let writers make money through their platform. When they started the ad-revenue sharing model for Quora space, I was a bit optimistic, but it didn’t work out. In the past year, I have made over $68 from it with over 170,000 followers.
According to Quora CEO in his post, they will be cash positive alone from the ad revenue their platform generates. Now, why these new monetization tools? They are trying hard to find a workaround to pay creators, so creators come to Quora to create meaningful answers. This will eradicate the problem of low-quality content.

Quora+ is a new monetization tool like Medium membership and partner program. The business model of Quora+ is similar to that of Medium.
You can read answers from someone in Quora+ revenue share only if you choose to be a Quora+ member, which costs $5 a month or $50 a year. You get paid for the Quora+ member read time, similar to how Medium is paying its creators.
